Does 'Leaky-Gut Syndrome' Exist?

We're back with Dr. Alessio Fasano to discuss a question he is frequently asked by patients and clinicians alike: Does "leaky-gut syndrome" exist? He explains how increased intestinal permeability (a dysfunctional gut barrier) interacts with other factors in the development of celiac disease.

the reason this doctor says there's no such thing as leaky guy is becuase the digestive system has been designed for millions of years to be porous, the sole purpose of the large intestines is to extract water, leaky gut isnt a thing because that's what intestines are there for... to leak. if you have a perforation that is something doctors will treat otherwise they check for toxicity. if you have normal levels of toxins some of wich your own body produces normally, then sorry thats not for medicine its diet and exercise for you, its bizarre how you guys are saying he's bought by big farma or something, when all your "cures" boil down to changing your diet, that's literally what he's tell you to do

OMG... You guys need to BOOST YOUR GAIN on the audio! The subtitles this time were accurate, so I'm assuming you entered that information yourselves. But the audio itself is such LOW QUALITY (because you're not mic'ing him properly) and not even BOOSTED to account for the low-quality audio signal. The fact that I had to turn my monitor ALL THE WAY UP to 100% to hear what Dr. Fasano was saying--and it was still hard to hear--is a significant tell. (For comparison, I watch Netflix at an audio setting of 23 to 42 on my system, depending on the movie.) If you're using the on-board mic on the camera, this is the biggest mistake you can make. You need a separate audio recording device that you later synch-up with the video. (Clapboards were invented in the film industry to mark the point where audio synch starts.) The microphone should be no more that 6 inches from Dr. Fasano's mouth and, ideally, should be pointed directly at his mouth... but we know that would look silly on video. Point is, the audio here is THE CONTENT of your posts. Whether we see the doctor or not--no offense, Alessio!--is irrelevant to the folks who need to receive the information he is trying to convey. Also--and I've said this before--you have way too much background noise in the room you're using for these presentations. You need to turn off the HVAC in that room to reduce mid-range audio interference that makes his voice inaudible.

It’s my understanding and please comment if you would, that any leakage into the peroneal cavity would cause peritonitis. So this leaky gut talking about things leaking out of the intestines into the perineum would be critical not just little sick. What is your thoughts on peritonitis and leaky gut.

I am interested in what you have to say AND completely put off by your EGO wall behind you! If you really believe in yourself and your knowledge you wouldn't need to make that wall as an attempt to persuade me you're knowledgable. Plus, you're reading from a script. 1.43 in and I am gone.
