The flaw with this system of UGC NET is that if a person has cleared NET for Assistant Professor he/ she will reappear for JRF again and again pushing up the cut off for Assistant Professor category also. There should be a separate category for Assistant professor and the candidates who have already cleared it should not be considered for that category. They should be considered for JRF only as once NET is cleared for Assistant Professor it is life long valid.

I gave the Home Science exam for the first time and got 212 marks. The JRF cut-off was 214, so I lost by just one question. I feel extremely bad, especially since I was so confident and expected the cut-off to be lower, around 200-204, based on past exams. My percentile is 99.76, but this system feels unfair. It's hard not to think that people might be paying to secure a JRF seat. The cut-off seems unusually high, and I hate how this whole system works.
