This top was so easy to create and its so easy to understand with your video! I love that you do it in parts so if I need to pick up my project later I dont get confused on excessive row counts. Don't let haters get you down, your work is unique and wonderful in every way. Thank you so much for sharing Chenda!

Hi Chenda, I’ve made several of your designs and I’ve always loved the results. I just learned about the controversy that you were going through a couple months ago and I just wanted to say that I think you handled it well and that you weren’t in the wrong. It’s understandable how the other designer felt but in the end it’s a very popular style of top and you didn’t reproduce an exact copy. And tbh I prefer your design and if that’s the case, then there’s no way it can be said that they are the same design. Keep your head up and please keep doing what your doing!! We all appreciate the time and effort you put into your tutorials and sharing them with us all <3

If anyone was having trouble with your sides not being even. I made the mistake of mixing up my top and bottom where you increase and decrease. Section B the 3inc in 1stitch is your top and the 2inc is your bottom. Caused my side to be uneven because i used the 3inc on bottom instead of top.I had to redo mine. My best tip for beginner is use a measuring tape for each section to make sure it's even on each panel section makes it look crispy. Hope this helps someone out there. ALSO Thank you for the video the top is so beautiful.

I just finished this top for a concert I’m going to and I absolutely cannot wait to wear it! The tutorial was so good and the directions were clear :) ❤️

I just finished doing mine and it's so I tweaked it a little by using back loop half double crochet instead of a lemon stitch and I started with 50 stitches and did 19 rows before starting the increases and it fits me perfectly. Thank you so much for the tutorial, this will be my go to top for the summer 😊

Literally just finished a few minutes ago and I LOVE it!!! I posted some pictures on my instagram story and my friends love it too. This top was so easy for me that I didn't have to start over once. I'm going to keep watching your videos for crochet pieces because they are all so amazing and I am excited for the results. :)

Thank you for this great tutorial! It’s my second crochet project ever and it was so easy to make and turned out beautifully. In case anybody wants to make it too, it is quite small. I would say it is size XS-S. I’m a size S-M and I made the back panels 7inches instead. That also made me use about 200g of worsted cotton yarn.

Hi Chenda, I will include your link on my FB page once I am done. It was a straight beginner top I was commisioned to do. I was inspire by your work with lemon peel stitch. You are a blessing. Although with 19 chains, for the third time I always ended up with double crochet and I learned also that lemon stitch needs foundation chain that can be divided by 2. To everything, thanks again. Thank you and GOD bless

I just wanna say thank you for always sharing amazing tutorials that are easy to follow! Not all of us can afford buying a pattern every time we want to make something and your tutorials have helped me since I was a beginner to learn to make my own patterns as well. Please know so many of us appreciate you!

Hey guys, i made it!! It was super cute, i did it in light brown, at the begining i kept yelling and giving up because she didnt do it all she just told us to do that do that and we were never sure if it stops at single or a double like when were at the end of a random row, as a beginer i really needed that. And at some part when she finished it with a db stich i ended at the single, i was so confused, gave up and make it again but it would still nevet end as a db like she did, but i contunied and it still works lol. The tutorial might be confusing but after being confused many times ive gotten used to it and made a wonderful project!! Just dont give up, and ull make this cute corset top like she did, goodluck guys, ull surely make it. I also made it in one single day, that shows how much obsessed i am w this kind of top, i love evwrything about it honestly, just not the confusion it gives me, but im super proud of how i didnt gave up and finished it!! Ty chenya diy for such a cute top, i also love how u told us to chain 19 in the begining, im a beginner and i cant somehow cant measure myself well, i also made another top out of her tutorial, but it was too big, i couldnt measure myself and now i just cant do anything w it, it was pretty tho, some part was yes, super confusing too in that vid. But anyway, if u see this, dont give up, it will be easy once u get used to it ❤
If anyone wanna see mine dm my instagram @dyck.iou

Really glad that this video has so many positive comments now. :) I read a comment that said Chenda DIDN'T buy the pattern to release a free tutorial of it - so basically the problem is solved now. Chenda DIDN'T steal or copy anything.

I was scared to comment anything like this claiming that there is nothing wrong with being inspired before because of all the negative comments and I didn't want to get flamed. You can't take ownership of a specific style of clothing - this type of top isn't An's.

I hope that this shows Chenda that there are people out there, behind the negative comments, that support her - even though some of us have been silent about it.

Also taking ownership over a style/type of clothing poses a huge problem: can you then ever create something that has similarities to something or would it just be claimed - down the line making it impossible for new people to get into crocheting because everything has already been claimed.

I loved making this top!! I opted for a wide satin ribbon to lace with instead of chaining and it gave a very elegant vibe to the shirt!!

I really wanted to make a corset out of tshirt yarn so that it is stiff enough to be worn as is- literally like a corset. I used your pattern as a reference along with a few tweaks here and there. AND IT'S TURNED OUT SO WELL! I will tag you on my post I hope you see it!!

I don’t even know why people are pressed this looks like every other corset you buy on shein so why are people acting like she stole from Chanel or Louis Vuitton or something y’all can stay pressed
