I work for an airline, there has to be at least 3 people working, we are required before locking the doors to double check everywhere, someone should have woken him, I’m guessing someone didnt like him and left him there.

If this guy had a brain, he should have NEVER admitted to taking a nap. If he had a brain, he would've said he was working extremely hard that day, suddenly felt very dizzy, and past out. When he came to the plane had started its flight.

I'm so disgusted at the Comment section. He's a Minority BUT he isn't stealing or in a gang, he's a hard working guy who worked multiple shifts that day when he fell asleep on the cargo area of the plane. The hospital even drew his blood and did a thorough drug test and it came back NEGATIVE. So please stop leaving rude comments, just becuase he looks and dress a certain way does NOT make him a bad person....

I was a baggage handler for 12 years but over time it became very stressful understaffed and I was glad to get out once pandemic struck. It was bliss. I loved the job until the quality dropped over the years, with some fights, arguments, no breaks, little sleep, anxiety, exhaustion. Any down time to grab a quick power nap was golden.

People work long hours. When you make $9 an hour lifting up to 100 pounds, you're body's gonna break down whether you want it to our not. Idk whether to be pissed off or glad most people don't know what that's like.

At my airline a "quiet" room or "rest" room that is completely separate from our break room is provided by the company. This room is designated for power naps, or to just take a moment to sit in a relaxed area to just close your eyes in a serene, quiet area away from all the noise, the chemicals and the outside elements. The room is to remain dark but a night light provides for safe walking through the room. Talking or noise is prohibited. Furniture is several HUGE comfy easy boy recliners and oversized comfy couches. Airline workers don't work normal hours like most jobs. We can be scheduled 12 to 16 hours a day. Days when there is an irregular operation such as weather, mechanical failure or a security concern we can be on schedule even longer. A 15 min., 30 min. or 1 hour nap is essential to giving a person under those working conditions that quick jolt they need for continued performance. The naps help to avoid costly or dangerous mistakes on the job. The only thing he did wrong was he chose the WRONG place to take his power nap.

If I employed this guy and found out he took casual naps on the job I would fire him immediately. The fact that hes not in more trouble for  re-routing a plane and causing it to land is beyond me. Idiots everywhere...

They probably over worked him. That's what the company gets when their employees don't get enough breaks, and they're under staffed expecting one person to do the job of three.

I work at the airport and I’d see ramp agents who handle bags sleep inside the cargo all the time. The of the main reasons they sleep because the aircraft is not departing until maybe an hour or so. That extra time they’ve the ramp agents have nothing to do but wait so they would sleep until the rest of the ramp agents bring the bags from the bag room to the aircraft and start loading them to the beltload into the cargo.

A lot of people are rushing to judgement- but if he is telling the truth, then maybe there needs to be an enquiry into the working practises? Having said that, there is a difference between 'taking a nap' and being exhausted from long hours....
