My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" and Mogwai owes hell of lot to this band. As many shoegazing bands Ride didn't get recognition comparable to other contemporaries such as the mentioned but also Primal Scream, Nirvana, Pixies or Sonic Youth. The thing is that bands as Ride, Lush, Cocteau Twins and such, with their noisey-goth feel got their recognition 20 years later by a new generation of bands of the beginning of this decade (Beach House, Best Coast, Deerhunter...), pointing out to what music critics have always overlooked. As in many other occasions people taste in music is better than that of critics... Or at least that's what I think

love this song probably my favorite song on my favorite album Nowhere, on a side note Swervedriver did a song in 1995 called Neon Lights Glow and the melody sort of sounds like a combination of this song and Polar Bear by Ride

I think Coldplay ripped this song off on their song "My Place." Definite similarities and their guitarist even said he's into Stone Roses and shoegaze bands.
