Samsung Z Flip and Fold 4 Teardowns: Do Cheaper Repairs Mean More Repairable Phones?

Surprisingly, we’re on the fourth generation of Galaxy Foldables, unsurprisingly they are far from mainstream. This year, however, Samsung is steeply discounting repairs so our interest is piqued. If Samsung is confident enough to drop the screen repair price to $29—with insurance—could the Fold and Flip 4 really be as repairable as non-foldables?
Before we get started, iFixit has teamed up with Samsung to sell parts and tools, but our Teardowns happen independently and without their involvement.

Nice video! Its so Mind boggling that its a glass, it flexes so much but putting it to the limits, it shatters as well.

Watching this from my flip 4, I love it. But I'm super paranoid about the screen cracking like all the reviews/complaints and pictures of the flip 3 cracking

"Hinges wear out" the old school flip phones hinges are still strong today as they ever were. Despite having advanced in tech, it appears durability has tanked with these near phones.

I still use my fold 2. The display is still unbroken and no problems with the hinge. I never intentionally tried to push it beyond its limits but use it as a tripod very often and once while doing so, wind knocked it over and it fell nearly 5 feet on concrete. It survived. Just use a good case.

Uh, yeah so does every other battery and hinge in existence. Why would you think subsequent iterations would free it from this eventuality.
