The only reason to get an FX3 over the A7siii is because it’s Netflix certified. But last time I checked I never saw any Sundance films citing the FX3 on their gear list. That’s because it is a weird in between camera, more expensive than the prosumer a7siii but falls short on the IMAGE quality of the truly professional FX9. All these other subpar attributes (XLR on-camera) are just bells and whistles. If you want good audio, you need good lav mics that run wireless to an XLR field recorder (no audio guy necessary) or you need a dedicated audio person on boom. I’d rather that stick with the camera that knows what it is (a7siii). And the day I’m ready to jump to true professional level, I will hop skip over the identity crisis FX3 to the FX9 or equivalent. All the same, thanks for the video Terry and I’m glad you’re happy with your FX3, it does look cool!

They did finally add breathing compensation to the FX3 with v2. I have an A7C but I do more video and getting more and more gigs. Super tempted to go up the FX3

A big push for this camera is gonna be that DP Grieg Fraser (Dune, The Batman) used the FX3 exclusively to shoot his last project True Love this past year.

So if I buy the fx3, I can buy some LUTS, load them onto the fx3, use them in the field at the time of shooting and clips look however I want with no editing??

When playing the clips back in camera, they already appear colour graded etc, I just have to nail my exposure?? Crazy...

For someone that enjoys editing with power director mobile on their phone tablet, simple but decent vids om the go, that's a huge reason to grab an fx3 lol

Losing the custom mode dials was a killer for me… If they put internal nds inside it would have been a wrap.

I agree - Shutter angle and false color may sway me to add it to my a7s iii and a7iv kit. Til then it feels like a side grade to a7s iii

No offense… But you’re nuts. First i watch a video with you raving about the a7S3, and then, right afterwards I watched the same video with you raving about the FX3. Make up your mind! I really want to an EVF and that’s why I’ll probably get the a7S3… But you are right about one thing, the FX3 is beautiful. But with my luck, one month after I buy it, the a7S4 will come out. Egh!

I could be wrong but I think the K3M comes with the shotgun mic which is the difference in price vs discounted.

Trading my EVF for a handle on top? No thank you. If the FX-3 were a few hundred dollars cheaper than the AS7iii, I would buy one instead of A7S but it is the opposite. A7Siii is a better deal.
