My '76 Torino has a pretty neat old custom made accessory

I've looked around briefly to see if these were manufactured in any real quantity back in the day and have come up with nothing to report, so who knows. I'm guessing it was custom made by a local business once upon a time. Either way, cool piece of the Torino's history.

"But it's going to stay with the car because it's part of it's history. " Well said sir.

Dad had a white 78 Grand Torino Sport. Loved that car. Learned to drive in that car. The nose was 50ft long. And pass everything on the highway except a gas station.

These cars always take me back to when people just liked driving and weren't always in such a hurry to get places.

If I would have known back in the 80’s and 90’s that every car I owned, beat on and fixed up were going to be a collectible, I would have kept a few of them. Thanks for this vid, you have a great collection

I owned a '74 4 door. Cool car. Tilt wheel mechanism is the signal switch.
Mine was just like "The Dude's".
Yellow with an olive drab vinyl roof.

Dad had an emerald green metallic '71 Torino with the 351. I think it was the sportiest car the retired USAF Colonel ever bought. Pretty fun. We took the back roads home when I bought the '70 AMC Javelin, and I lost him in the twisties even though my 390 was only running on 7 cylinders then. After rebuilding it, it had 420hp and over 425ft/lb of torque. THAT was the muscle car of my youth and I love it to this day..

That is pretty uptown. We always just stuck a piece of carboard in front of the radiator.

I live in one of the villages in Alaska off the road system. The amount of cool old cars stuck in brush and not rotted out completely still amazes. I’m working on a 76 Jeep Cherokee 2-door with a 360 and a three speed that I drug out the brush.

I had a 76 Torino elite that I got for dirt cheap from a buddy who got it out of a field in Ky an it floated like a boat, really the only ford I’ve ever owned but man did that thing have a huge front end and under that giant hood was a big 400 I had some fast/fun times in that classic tank.

Also, thanks for keeping her original, and not turning her into another Starsky and Hutch replica

That car is in pretty darn good shape. Not going to lie but, growing up in Hollywood and seeing Starsky and Hutch being filmed on location I do have an affection for Torino's lol.

My grandfather had a Triumph, it had a little chain under the dash that remote operated the radiator blind .

Thats probably the nicest cold front cover Ive seen. I have usually made these from cardboard, wrapping it with black duct tape. Seems to last many years and is a lot better than just cardboarf 😂😂

I love the Torino. I love those wheels on it. My mother had a blue one when I was a child. I would love to find one just like that. Love it

My brother had a 1972 Grand Torino with a 302 and I had a 1973 with a 351 Cleveland. Fun to drive and tough as hell.

Dang that’s a clean car! Anything that got driven in the winter in Minnesota is long gone now from all the road salt, it just ate them from the inside out and they’d all but completely fall apart.

Brother I live just out in the Butte out by the gun range. I feel your pain but I share your love for odd cold climate things auto manufacturers included in certain cars. I hope it's not raining as bad over there. Awesome video man👍🏻🇺🇲

I drove my 78 Thunderbird back in high school through the winters. No chains, just snow tires and a lot of throttle.
