ABOUT US:
Oakes Daylilies is a family-owned daylily farm that's been in business for three generations. Our daylilies grow in home gardens, city parks and botanical gardens across the nation– including Hawaii and Canada. We are known in the industry as Daylily Experts and grow over 1000 varieties of daylilies on nearly 70 acres in East Tennessee. But over 50 years ago, we started just like you—with one daylily in a home garden.

.............................
FARM-FRESH TO YOU!
When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger — two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and produce more blooms quicker.

All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

Great advice, do not divide them now. I ordered in the past from gilbert h wild and received teeny tiny plants. They took about 2-3 years to get actual flowers. When I ordered from Oakes, I got large healthy plants and got blooms that Spring/Summer 🌸🌸🌸

The Oakes Daylilly people are a national treasure. Everything I have ever ordered has come in a timely fashion and thrived. I have visited them and was really impressed with their fields of countless varieties.

5/27/23 I've ordered twice, and you have always sent green beautiful plants, thank you and can't wait to get enough money to order again 🥰

I have a Daylily bed that I planted about 6 years ago when I first discovered Oakes. Unfortunately, this year - between late spring freezes, lots of rain and then 95 degree temps - it has been neglected a bit. I need to get after it and pull all the weeds that have invaded and generally just clean it up. I may need to divide a few of the more robust varieties. (WOO-HOO! More daylilies!) I plan to order some if your fertilizer to have on hand for next spring.
Thanks for the information.

Is it ok to divide a plant in the fall ? Do you ship in the late summer?

I'm looking for a video on how to prep a bed for daylilies. I'm in Texas and the water is limited in the summer. I have a couple of vegetable beds I want to plant flowers in. They're elevated about 6 inches with soil underneath. The soil has a high sand content for drainage. I'm reading I need to mix peat moss into it?
