I discovered tig welding art a handful of years ago, and I've put a ton of work and effort into improving and exploring it ever since. Since starting to make tig welding art, I've definitely learned a few things. Mostly by messing up and wrecking what I'm working on, but I've learned from it nonetheless. Let's go over some of that stuff here today, and hopefully I can get you started with some ideas that will have you running lines and making some awesome stuff!

Ran across a video of yours. Loved it. I have been welding for 20 years. Pipe, production. Heavy industrial. I am bored and love growing and learning. Thanks for the new inspiration and hope I can reach as I dive in to weld art.

Old old saying I only recently understood after years of hearing it,
"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear".
I thought this was some mystical thing. It's all about attitude. If you're humble and curious, anyone and anywhere becomes an opportunity to learn.

Thanks for the good vibes bro. I had welding in high school. (Arc mig tig)
Quit the alcohol bought a welder and plasma cutter… I should’ve done this a long time ago. Fell into hvac trade but it’s not my passion. Thanks for your channel dude🤙🏽👊🏽. Always loved the metal art

My apple taste but dirty, thankful for it tho.😂 your videos are a blessing thank you very much. I am a maintenance technician for a sheet metal shop. When I have time I’m allowed to tig on aluminum enclosures. There’s welded to be ground flush. Your videos are a nice help. And what I realize is honesty hands down. Take a short cut and with tig it will tell on you quickly I’ve realized.

Loving the art angle, this is what got me into it. I'm just trying to get my basics down first. Can't wait to start the course with you in Feb. Cheers!

Another top shelf video Dusty! I'm really enjoying your channel, I've spent the last two weeks trying to get through your back catalogue. I think I'm about half way there. Great entertainment and leaning a thing or two as well. Keep up the good work mate!!

I really want to get into welding art, I too am a lifelong artist. I have wanted to start my own company selling my creations for sometime now and had finally gotten the majority of my tools together when I was on a job and had been leaving all my tools on site, in a locked shed that had cameras on it, then one morning, I arrived on site, to find a few cops walking around and looking around, only to find out that all my tools were stolen 😢 6-8k worth the tools, my life was crushed and my dreams destroyed .After this happened I went into a serious depression for a bit and almost gave up on my dream, feeling I would not be able to get to where I was again, Ii can’t let them take my dreams tho, so I finally started building my tool collection again, although I’m dealing with health issues and unable to afford the quality of tools I once was due to being unable to work like I was but I’m so eager to start creating my own welding art. I’d really like to start mixing my wood working art with my metal work to create my own personal pieces, hopefully I can build the tools up again and get my pain under control enough to do the things that I once loved. Follow your dreams people, you never know when something will change your life as you know it

Honestly, looked this up out of minor curiosity because of a welding mask I saw while looking for mask while I glass etch, and now my curiosity is much higher

I'm really considering going to a trade school and getting certified in welding. I'm kind of a tom boy in some ways and I don't mind labor jobs at all. I love art and making/building stuff, too so I'm hoping that it is fulfilling.

Great videos man, love watching them. So I've been wondering, I'm not sure how often you may make a mistake on a full project but what do you do if you have to make a repair? Let say you're close to completion and you dont step as far as you want on a dab or somthing of that nature, what do you do? I would think by buffing it back down you take a chance of losing the coloring or even your tracing.

Minimum thickness of material to produce best results? What size tungsten? What size filler rod? I believe these are bigger variables to consider when getting into welding portraits.

Hey Dusty, love the content. Do you ever mix in 309 into some non-ss pieces to create some interest or do you have to also build up 308 over the 309 to make it worth while?
