Tribute to the Belgian airline which went bankrupt in 2001. Bankruptcy was caused by swissair who forced sabena to do things they preferred not to do ! When after 9-11-2001 costumers stayed away the end of Sabena was near...
After 78 years of service the pride of Belgium, our own national airline, was gone !
Sabena was one of the leading pioneers in civil aviation, it was the first airline to link the African an European continent by air and did so until the end...

Sabena were fantastic, the best airline I ever flew with. I was so very sorry when they stopped flying.

My dad use to work with Sabena Airlines and it was the first ever aircraft i flew with. I miss all the sovinirs i got as a kid when my dad worked there.

Petite compagnie aérienne mais géante par la qualité du service rendu et l'équipage qui y travaillait.
Celle qui la remplace avec un "B" stylisé sur la queue des avions ne lui arrive pas à la cheville. Sabena fait encore défaut dans le ciel d'Europe dans les années 2000.

Absolument d'accord avec vous. Et je pense qu'elle fera encore longtemps défaut dans ce ciel. Même si de part ses innovation elle restera a jamais présente dans l'histoire de l'aviation mondiale mais cela les générations futures risque bien fort de l'oublier.

Sabena was one of the best airlines of the world. I can't even count the number of time I have flown with them especially on transatlantic routes. It's a shame they have been gobbled up by SwissAir.
