goddamn masterpiece. makes me wonder why in all my years of schooling her name never came up even once. each piece i've come across since i first heard her name has blown me away. i hope her work gains a wider audience.

She died a hundred years ago and her genius is still gifting us after all this time. This young lady certainly had composition chops. This piece is magical. Yes, we wish she had lived longer...and so did she.

I discovered Lili by specifically searching for compositions created during WW1. Hard to believe this divine music and that horrifying war happened in the same universe or dimension, let alone in the same era. Inconceivable.

Lili Boulanger was living proof of ‘quality over quantity’

To think she only composed this when she was 19. If she hadn't have died so young, imagine what she could have done.

Beautiful.
It's amazing just how wide the interval of a tone seems by the end of this

I played this piece in one of my piano recitals. I really enjoyed playing Boulanger’s piece.

Makes me imagine a meteore passing near our planet for a very few minutes and going away in the deep dark for ever ....this piece is strongly evocative...a masterpiece

C'est magnifique...à pleurer ! Merveilleuse musicienne Lili, disparue à 22 ans....

This is incredibly remote, rarefied music, almost of another world. Sort of Debussyan, yet not at all Debussyan.
I wish she had written more piano music (only 4 piano works that I know of: the 3 Morceaux (counting that as a single work), the Theme and Variations, and Preludes in Db major and B major (the last of which I just found out about today).

Interesting harmonies... dreamy, mysterious. Reminds of some late Scriabin, and of course Debussy, Ravel.
