a collection for Louis Vuitton by TYLER OKONMA

i started with stencils on proclubs in 04.
then iron ons for bloxhead in 06.
few fuck lame prints in 08.
jasper would ask me to draw on his hoodies and shoes i never declined.
then odd future items got cracking in 2011, then vans trusted me.
i started and dialed in on golf wang in 2013,
which led to an ill converse relationship; still going.
started working on le FLEUR* in 2019 after lacoste gave me a shot.
le FLEUR* finally released 2021 and im still perfecting it.
all that preparation went to work when i got the opportunity at louis vuitton to do this collection.
i was not nervous
i did not feel pressure
i was beyond ready.
i am very proud of how it came out.
on top of everything i got to use my friends in it and the same production crew ive used on everything since the yonkers video.
ive been making clothing along side music since i was 13. nice to add this to the list

Something interesting I think people overlook that Tyler mentions in the description is he's been working with the same production crew since his Yonkers video over 13 years ago, including DP Luis Perez. Developing your visual style with other artists like that for that long of a time period really lets you establish a truly unique look. It probably also makes doing shoots/videos easier since everyone knows everyone else's needs and vibe on a deeper level

This video is really impressive visually. The people who directed, shot, and edited the video are clearly very talented. I also like how the video feels like tyler's video. You can feel his personality through the dialogue, the set, the timing, the color palate, and the color correction. Makes it seem as if it wasn't a souless collaboration. You can tell tyler was passionate enough to add input, and louis vuitton respected him enough/wanted to collaborate with him enough to allow his ideas to make it into the video. The clothing and accessories look really cool too of course.
