Deep Purple were outstanding band in 70's, when Richie Blackmore was with them. After that, this band is nothing but money making machine. After Perfect Strangers, i didn't knew any of their songs.

Without Jon and Richie it's a tribute band

For me, no Jon Lord and no Ritchie Blackmore means no Deep Purple. It's just that simple.
I love Steve Morse but even he could not make me come back to DP.
It's a different music, different feel, and I don't identify with it.
For me, Fireball, Machine Head and In Rock, that's the Deep Purple I will always come back to.
