Anglewax Shield, an update

Just over a week ago I applied Angelwax Shield to my wife's convertible roof. Today we have had a 30min spell of rain for the first time since application so thought I would give you an update on its performance.

Hi Martin, i do like the intro page, I don't know much about these fabric roofs but let's hope this fabsil one works, fingers crossed.

I’ve used Fabsil on a folding camper in the past. I found it really easy to use with great waterproofing qualities. It gave good even coat, I couldn’t fault it and was surprised just how good the results were.

Awesome honest review, I used Fabseal on a waterproof canvas type animal hutch cover a while back, and it destroyed it, killed any form of waterproofing and eventual it fell apart, it was ok on a tent but only beaded for a couple of trips.

You will be suitably impressed with Fabsil especially if it is the Gold varient, i have used this product for many years and the results are excellent.

I bought 5lts of fabsil it works great on tents but I never got it to work my soft top merc, but I put it on when it was still damp, it may work better when the roofs completely dry then applying it. As the tent was dry. 🚗🚗

Well that Anglexwax Shield Soft Protection will land back in the bin ha ha stay safe Martin 👍🚗

I doubt there is any beading in the bin either.
On the plus side. All the product removal from the soft top will have it clean as a whistle.

Martin, stop mucking about with all these and get yourself some Fabsil Gold. Make sure it's the Gold.

Good to see another offering truly honest feedback, and seeing your numbers growing nicely now mate. Stay safe. 👍

Sorry to see such disappointing results from the angel wax. I hope you like the Fabsil now that you’ve ordered it! I used Fabsil Gold but I still think you’ll get good results from that- if not then I may not show my face again, or at least refrain from recommending anything😂
Look forward to your next video.

Have you tried Gtechniq smart fabric? I haven't used it on a convertible, but used it on my wife's floor mats. Seemed to work really well

I’ve always found Gtechniq I1 pretty good for convertible hoods. Plenty of beading. I’ve been intending to try Fabsil as it’s mentioned on forums all the time so interested on how you get on.

Aw disappointing results from Angelwax there Martin, I’m currently testing a new fabric sealant from Autoglanz and although still in development it behaves in pretty much the same way, I fed back the info to AG and was told that waterproofing isn’t always the best form of protecting a fabric, it can alter the feel of the material and does not necessarily make it easier to clean.
My response was ‘How are you supposed to know when it’s worn off to reapply if it gives you no indication’
So I thought I’d put the cleaning ability to the test, tried ketchup, with or without sealant cleaned up same, tried mud, rubbed it in, no difference to the cleaning ability again.
I just don’t like it, so I can understand your frustration with the Shield, get it back in the bin!!
😅
