I have that same medicine cabinet that you replaced and was able to install it recessed. Not sure why they market it as surface mount only when there is little difference between other cabinets that offer both methods of installation. Thanks for your video! I learned a lot for next time!

Hello, Thank you for the video.. Where did you buy the cabinet and what metal is it made of? I am trying to replace an old recessed cabinet with an odd size; 36.25” wide x 40” height x 4.75” deep. The surrounding rough opening is tile. Custom made cabinets today are very expensive. I may be forced to refurbish the old one. Again thanks and hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. I want to install a surface mount medicine cabinet as a recessed one, but have it stick out just a little bit, screw it in and caulk the sides.
