Every kid has a favorite toy, whether it’s Pogs, Silly Bandz, or even Laser Pointers. So which one is yours: Heelys, Tamagotchis, or Pokémon Cards? No matter which toy is your favorite, you’d probably be pretty baffled to hear that some of them have actually been banned from schools around the world!
Some of these toys are so innocent that we just couldn’t believe that they were banned from anywhere, let alone schools. In 2013, just as rainbow Loom Bracelet kits were becoming incredibly popular, some teachers decided that they just did not belong in schools. The parents of the students certainly did not agree, and they had a pretty epic back-and-forth about it! Could a little creativity really hurt the kids?
We were actually pretty astounded to see that not all of the things on this list are even traditionally used as a toy! A perfect example is the water bottle — do you know how people have been using these modern marvels as toys in and out of the classroom? Well, once you do, you may have a better sense for why they were banned!
So, which toy is your favorite? Is it the Fidget Spinner? Well, if so, you won’t believe the reason that some schools decided to ban them!
