Holding a door is just a common courtesy. I am female and will hold a door for anyone. Hands are full? Wrangling kids? Using a cane? Walking just a few steps behind? Imma hold the door. And if anyone holds the door for me, I'm going to smile and thank them. Some people just LOOK for reasons to be pissy.

In 83/84 I grabbed a door for a lady carrying a few boxes. She got mad and told me she was capable of opening her own doors. So I closed it on her and then stood there and refused to let anyone else help her, made her figure it out on her own. Made me late for class but was totally worth it.
