What is GMI?
For more information on GMI see:
Graded Motor Imagery (GMI) is the most up to date rehabilitation program, based on the latest science and clinical trials, to treat complex pain and movement problems.

Graded Motor Imagery has been shown to offer substantial improvements in pain and disability in some of the most difficult pain states to treat, including complex regional pain syndrome and phantom limb pain. The evidence is also emerging that graded motor imagery is effective in the treatment of other neuropathic pain conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome and even osteoarthritis.

The background music is too loud. I can't understand the words very well with the accent. Is this a musical or an information video?

Is there a particular treatment duration? Is there an evidence of GMI showing results within 2 weeks?

Hi,
I have autism (level 1, which is high functioning) and a chronic neuropathic pain condition which affects my skin, pelvis, limbs and face . I've been reading about GMI and wondering if it can help me. A lot of the exercises seem to use mirror neurones in the brain. I would love to manage my pain better but I've also read that a lot of neuroscientists are seeing evidence that autism may be correlated with disfunctional mirror neurones. So would that then mean that GMI is not the best route for me to follow? Any advice you can give about the effectiveness of GMI in autistic people would be much appreciated. Thanks!
