I can remember being in HARVARD SQ. In the 1940's and 50's when nobody had cell phones and back-packs. There was a bike shop on
BOW ST. that sold some W. W. 2 artifacts like helmuts and gas masks. The UNIVERSITY THEATRE was located were the Bank of America is now and many nights we would go to the movies and then to the restaurant next door ( WALDORF, I believe ) for a nice sandwich and a cup of coffee which cost around a dollar. Way less crime in those days and you could walk anywhere even at night and not be accosted. Those were the days I shall never forget.
