Steven Keating, a patient at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and advocate for curiosity and patient data, shared the incredible story of how his life-long curiosity helped identify his brain tumor—and how curiosity about medical data can help others, as well.

More than 190 friends and supporters of Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) gathered at the historic Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida, in January, 2016, for the second annual presentation of BWH Inspires. Featuring the work of three visionary thought leaders, the exclusive, high-energy event provided thought-provoking commentary about the future of medicine. In addition to Steven Keating, Jorge Plutzky, MD, Director of Preventive cardiology, discussed the ways new science and personal lifestyle choices can help individuals chart their cardiovascular destiny and Reisa Sperling, MD, MMSc, Director of the Center for Alzheimer Research and Treatment at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, shared the promising strides BWH is making towards secondary and primary prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
