To let’s actually check if these investments are actually beating the PSEi to be consistent we will just use the year to date for each of the assets:

PSEi 5,833.58- year to date -26.59%

BTC 11, 386 USD ytd 55.86%
ETH 392.95 USD ytd 163.70%

Gold - 2,038.5600 ytd - 33.23%
Silver - 26.7560 ytd45.90%

So it’s true that these assets beat the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Before I answer why I think they are up, let me answer why I have them

Gold - I have been positioning way back — not during this pandemic but when times were good because its price was lower

Bitcoin / Etherium - I started just more than a year a go because I believe digital currencies / blockchain are the future. I do not know if it will be bitcoin or etherium but all i wanted was to have exposure should it be the future.

Why do I like Gold?

Why do I like Bitcoin and Etherium?

So why are they massively up right now?

Uncertainty
Pandemic
Recession

Is is a good time to buy right now?

That would be up to you and what your buying parameters are
Because if you treat it as an investment the principles of buy low, sell high would be there

Hi Marvin what are your thoughts on EMP going back to the PSEi replacing SCC. However, recomposition will only take effect on August 17, 2020. Will this boost buying confidence and increase the stock price. The stock is moving side ways for a couple of days now but still above the 20 and 50 day moving average and still in bullish trend. Will it break out at 9.10? But foreign buying is low and as you know they are the one dictating the market.
