I was an inmate in California and it’s disgusting! Straight up sex changes were going on back in 2004. All sorts of sexual harassment and abuse occurred regularly. I’m traumatized. It’s definitely impacted my marriage and social interactions even up to this very day. These individuals have been a protected class with more rights and freedoms than straight white people much longer than I can recall.

I personally have advocated for prisoners' health care to include dental care. I have been met with sooo many obstacles.... not from the people working in the prison system, the bureaucratic system like governors and alderman. I was met with complete circle conversations. It was beyond frustrating. Prisoners are not receiving basic human necessary care...why are we worried about care that is not a necessity, when we can't even provide the decency of even life saving care. Or severe mouth infection care. It's crazy how bad the medical in prison is. You can say they don't deserve it but until you have a loved one.... especially one with sczophrenia that the system failed due to no help for mental health. The nightmare stories I could say would make everyone with a human heart, think twice. But gender reassignment is not a prison problem.
