Turkey says it might approve Finland’s Nato bid but not Sweden’s

Turkey signalled that it might approve Finland’s Nato bid, but not Sweden’s.

This comes after Sweden approved a protest where a Quran was burned in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on January 21.

Turkey, a Nato member for over 70 years, is poised to make or break both countries’ Nato accession plans, as each state’s application requires unanimous approval from all 30 existing members.

Hungary is the only country besides Turkey that is yet to approve the Nordic countries’ bids.
