1. Nivea cream was introduced in 1911 by pharmacist Paul Carl Beiersdorf and it was formulated with patent application of Lanolin

2. This cream was also the first stable water in oil emulsion. That’s why Nivea feels so moisturising on skin.

3. Initially Nivea cream came in pale yellow container. In 1925 Nivea changed its packaging to blue tin with a white logo

4. Nivea has two versions: one is German and another is American/Mexican. Formulations are almost same just 1-2 ingredients are different. They have different preservatives.

5. Nivea has high amount of mineral oil and petrolatum which make it an extremely effective occlusive. So if you have dehydrated skin then it’s gonna help you. It did not suit my face but works really well for my body. It has extremely rich butter like texture.

I used Nivea light moisture cream, the one that comes in white packaging. But I recently stopped using it because of nivea being one of those companies who still actively performe animal testing of their products. I never knew about all the animal testing and stuff until a friend of mine told me I looked it up on YouTube and it broke my heart into several pieces, like beauty is pain but the immense pain has to be bore by the innocent animals and trust me many rabbits monkey rats and dogs go through something that's worse than slaughtering and close to hell. I suggest everyone to look animal testing up on YouTube and please switch to brands that don't test on animals like there are actually many alternatives, so please ditch nivea as a brand and other animal testing brands as well

if y'all want something lighter than this creme which has similar ingredients u can go for Nivea ultra rich body lotion. It has most of the ingredients that creme has but lack lanolin she mentioned. Instead it has Prunus amygdalus Oil (sweet almond oil) for moisture. Its not an alternative ingredient for Lanolin but helps in moisturizing skin..As someone mentioned Lanolin causes Dermatitis, I think body lotion with similar ingredients is a catch. But note the lotion also constitutes some extra Ingredients and highly suited for dry skin. If u got dry acne or combination skin It sure works for you. I apply this lotion on my face and slug vaseline petroleum jelly after 10 min. Works damn so well. Its fine even if you use toners, serum before applying lotion on your face.

Only this cream has saved me from extremely cracked body skin in Finland which has a harsh winter and the weather is very dry. I was born and lived my whole life in south asia so Finland’s weather was horrible for my body skin. This is my savior.

Helps when you get burns in the kitchen. My mother has been using Nivea since 30+ years and she uses it instantly whenever oil drops on her hand or water or any kind of burn and it instantly soothes it, there's a cooling effect.
Even though we don't use it on the face or so but we keep it in the kitchen for such emergencies.

Be careful and read the ingredients as the formulation of the La Mer cream is closer to the European version of Nivea rather than American made.
