Reforestation project in Borneo

Moving Mountains Trust worked together with indigenous Penan communities in Borneo in order to protect and enrich the Sarawak rainforests. We funded a reforestation project over seven years which enabled the local villagers to create tree nurseries and transplant the seedlings into areas which had been logged. Over the course of the programme we estimated planting over 100,000 indigenous trees.

A lot of the money for this project came from our partner Adventure Alternative which provides holidays to Borneo. A proportion of the profits was given over to this project.
