UK Economy: day of price rises and new financial policies explained

The Easter weekend closes with a bang as many households see their council tax and bills go up on what's been dubbed 'price hike day'.

This week will also see many of the policies announced in the chancellor's budget and other flagship measures come into force - starting today, with a rise in the national living wage and free childcare.

One of the last rolls of the dice for the government ahead of a widely expected autumn election, and all amid terrible poll ratings over the weekend.

Price cap means fuel costs has come down but increase in standing charges cancels that out.
Being conned AGAIN.

There is no need for broadband, home insurance, Electric & Gas standard charge increase. It’s just pure utter greed.

High inflation, high interest rates monthly mortgage payments went up to unaffordable levels with every high interest rate hike. Monthly Rent for renters has gone up to unaffordable levels as Landlords are passing on the cost of their monthly payments that has gone up by every high interest rate hike onto the Renters. Then you have every bills that keeps going up and up. Wages are not going up benefits are not going up. Absolute disgrace we are being shafted left right and centre from all sides.

It's not about the economy. It's about serial betrayals by the Tories.

As they find more wealthy people, they will continue to increase prices to eliminate the poor class.

If we are to survive in this economic crisis we need assistance right away. The ETF and stock markets are still quite volatile, just like the property market. I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $300k stock portfolio

"The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers – including three Britons – using a UK-made drone" will UK media even mention this

It’s sad because no matter who gets power it will be a disaster, Labour will just up taxes and then fail economically as always
