How To Install Your Dryer's Pedestal

Today, Bill from Point & Click Appliance Repair will take you step by step through installing a dryer pedestal to your Kenmore dryer by yourself. .

WARNING: Before starting any appliance repair, always make sure that the appliance is completely disconnected from its power source by unplugging it. This tutorial is meant to be a guide and should not be used in place of the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer.

For this installation you are going to need:
- ¼ inch nut driver
-5/16 inch nut driver

Step-by-step how-to instructions for installing a pedestal to you dryer
- Using ¼ inch nut driver take the screws out of the pedestal drawer
- Place screws in drawer
- Take out drawer
- Push in rails
- Set you pedestal on its side with the drawer side facing up
- Put your dryer on its side
- Take feet off dryer
- Using the 5/16 inch nut driver screw in screws partially
- Line up the pedestal to the bottom of the dryer
- Using the 5/16 inch nut driver screw in screws to keep pedestal in place (top)
- Tighten bottom screws all the way
- Stand up dryer
- Pull rails out
- Set drawer inside rails
- Screw the drawer back into place with the screws that were sitting inside the drawer
- Plug in appliance

Great video, but lay your dryer or washer on it's side not back. A good tip too is to level before you put the drawer back in, easier to get to the feet.

I got a good deal from a used appliance store on a set of pedestals for my Kenmore Elite He2's, but they did not have the mounting machine screws. What size screws do I need? (SAE/metric? length? diameter? thread pitch?) Thanks.

My wife doesn't care for the pedestals and I want to remove the pedestals from my washer and dryer, can you tell me if the feet on the bottom of the pedestals will work on the bottom of the washer/dryer or will I have to purchase them?

I have LG units that are about 10 years old that I am getting ready to move. Are the pedestals solid under the bottom so you can slide a hand truck under it without removing the pedestal nor bending it with the hand truck? Thanks

NB: Printed instructions showed a screw and using a phillips. Actually screw was a bolt instead.
