You've inspired me to get a heated brush. I wear hijab 🧕🏻, so I cover my hair and it doesn't really matter to me what it looks like, but I wear my hair in a bun most of the day and it feels a lot better when it's brushed really well and straightened. Plus, I live in Wyoming so it feels so good to have a little heat on those harsh winter mornings. Anyway thank you for the recommendation. Glad you had a safe and fun trip. This is soo different to england!!! We have reception (also known as foundation stage) which is equivalent to kindergarten and the first year of school and it is majority play based. We work of the eyfs scheme which follows key principles of early childhood development so the reception day includes lots of free flow indoor and outdoor play exploring a range of activities set up. While we do have a very small amount of sit down time for songs, calendar phonics and maths it is nothing like this at all and testing in the way shown is almost non existant as the majority of assessment is done by observation. You as a teacher are amazing and doing an incredible job with what you have to work with but it does make me sad that children this young don't have the same opportunities for play as in most schools in England. 😢❤
