What's your favourite? What 1176 la-2a combo do you usually use on vocals?

I really like Native Instruments VC-2A's sound profile. Sounds balanced and more radio ready to my ears.

Although I'm at the stage now, where I ALMOST can't take anymore of comparison vids .... (been doing a LOT of research and such over the year, and have finally bought, what i bought, and am ready to just forget everything and get down to work with the tools that I now have) ... Please don't forget everyone, if you get Melda MTurboComp You have MANY other compressor emulations as well! 1176, Neve, API, Fairchild etc. I have UAD which I am very happy with, but I sometimes run out of instances. TurboComp is a no-brainer😉

In this comparison I like Red Rooster, Opto and Overloud. I usualy use Overloud Gem comps as a goto, if I have to watch CPU hit, I go for waves CLAs. Thanks for the video!

I tested a whole bunch of big name LA2A plugin clones against the default Studio One compressor and the conclusion is...don't waste your money. Seriously.

I have to say that even though the Slate 76 was slow, I like how it sounded along with this one. Maybe not enough to subscribe though cause I’m set with UAD and Melda.

The biggest failures are Waves and Overloud in this case. Hornet comes in bottom 3rd position

Black Rooster might have the best contender for juiciest compression. Softube comes right up there too, followed by UAD, as it doesn't have much character. bx_opto comes a bit after along with T-racks for reliability it seems. Slate Digital seems to have made a HiFI version of the LA2A.
