Comparing Cadillac's 6.2L CT5-V Blackwing V8 & The CT6-V 4.2L Blackwing

Cadillac has introduced their most powerful production car ever, the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, and with it, their most powerful engine, a 6.2L supercharged V8 producing 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. This is not to be confused with Cadillac's 4.2L Blackwing V8, a twin turbocharged DOHC engine developed for the CT6-V, which is no longer in production. This video will compare the two Blackwing V8 engines. We'll cover airflow, intakes and exhausts, hot-v engines, air-to-water intercoolers, twin-scroll turbos, and discuss how twin, twin-scroll turbos can be implemented in a V8 engine.

love how Cadillac tends to fly under the radar for so long, then out of nowhere: "We heard you like manual transmissions and you want a V8, we got you fam."

Germans: “6 cylinder, one more turbo, automatic trans and electric motor - well, it should be quick enough”
GM: “Supercharged V8 and stick shift!”

Graduate level engineering student here. Love your channel! You’re more concise than my hybrid electric vehicles professor 😂😂

"Do not go gentle into that goodnight"; bravo Cadillac.

If I’m correct I believe Cadillac was the first to make a v8 engine so they might hang on to using them for a while

Me: Sees whiteboard with lots of detail, pauses video to make a bowl of popcorn and get a soda.

That intake manifold is awesome! Supercharger case integrated, and space for the intercooler... What a packaging marvel.

I agree with that engineer. A “driver’s car” is one that requires more engagement by the driver. All the current driver aids on modern cars diminish the driving experience in my opinion. Give me an H pattern shifter and a clutch pedal any day!

Probably the last of the true hot-rod Caddies, and surely destined for classic, even legendary status. Bravo!

Builds a hot driver's car. Decides to cancel after a short production run. GM, you make it hard to love you.

I'll never buy a car that requires an internet connection to operate.
