Can surgeons check prior to surgery to see if one has large amounts of fibrofatty tissue in the nose? If so, is this favorable for rhinoplasty results? Also, I have thick broad nose, oily skin, bulbous tip. Should I give up on having rhinoplasty?

I have thick skin. I had an open rhinoplasty Jan 2021, and the refinement def isn't as noticeable as I would like.

I have thick scar tissue after rhinoplasty. My nose looks bigger now 3 years post surgery than it did before surgery.

Open approach in thicker skin patients may end with unwanted massive tip swelling which may last for more than 2 years . Close approach with the use of supportive tip grafting is the technique of choice.
