If you’re “elegant” you’re elegant. You don’t have to “strive” to be. In my opinion, as someone who grew up in the charm school system, elegance is how you carry yourself. You can wear a burlap sack and still be perceived as elegant if that’s what you really are. You cannot buy “elegance”.

With that being said, I still love to see Black women creating content and I understand that this is a niche that viewers love to see. So, kudos for putting out well-produced and thought out content. 👏🏽

Can’t afford any designer stuff yet also I don’t think you need to buy expensive stuff to be elegant

Croc heels!?😂

Good investment pieces also include handmade clothes and bags from small business creatives/owners. Elegance is not limited to overpriced/overrated European brands. Support small businesses too.

How does one define Elegance and by whose standards?
At some point we all follow the ideas of others, hence the need for designers, hair weave, make up etc, instead of being OUR TRUE self.
While I agree with the pieces presented here are awful but when we start to judge others it's not elegant.

I almost suspect some of the designers are mocking us with those pieces.

This video seems to be more about name-dropping labels than elegance. Which gives some the impression that elegant can be purchased at a high price. To me elegance is a state of being that has to be cultivated. It is timeless and priceless.

I was against Crocs until I started suffering from plantar fasciitis and this shoe has literally made it easier for me to even walk.

I have seen many women declare their classy through luxury goods and items. I feel you do make some great points. I personally have deemed ysl, Louis Vuitton Christian louboutin and even Chanel as not classy. Simply because they are always trending. I would never wear any of the “not classy” declarations you’ve made and I’m not even 100% schooled on classy. I also never even knew those items were a thing. Wow! That being said, I do understand that our choice of attire, language, paralanguage and non- verbal cues are all equally important. Communication is always used more in paralanguage and non-verbal cues. I believe striving in clear communication builds character more than any fabric or attire you place on your body. Knowledge and education is highly important to be a more effective human being. A person of great character has the privilege of their attire being overlooked. In addition, A person who has a habit of always immediately focusing and judging a person by their choice of attire before giving the persons character a chance to show is NOT a classy person. I must add, it is not great a character to judge either. The word class sticks out in classy for a reason. The history of class has blood shed in it and it is not pretty. I’d rather stay educated, build character, focus on my clothes being steamed, clean and my appearances being polite, welcoming, and loving.

Every single piece of item you’ve highlighted, I’ve always thought were hideous & do not exude any elegance whatsoever. Great advice 👌🏾

Elegance is how one carries oneself, understands emotional intelligence and an overall character and poise. A person can be head to toe in Chanel and still behave trashy and still be rude and ill mannered. Yet look absolutely amazing. Also, this does not cater to a realistic budget. Not every person has thousands of dollars to spend on designer labels. Or even wants to. It come accross a little boujee... And is it really necessary? There are many brands which are not necessarily designer yet well made and classically cut. A lady can be wearing a £5 primark dress and carry herself with so much grace that everyone in the room admires her. It's more style and how one carries herself in the item which speaks volumes. I ride horses, attend the best restaurants and bars in town, visit the opera and rub shoulders with bankers and people in government. I'm very much amongst the social scene in the city I live in and the majority of the time I'm dressed in a mix of high Street fashion mixed with expensive items but I look a million dollars. No one would guess I'm wearing a dress that costs less than £20.00. You cannot buy elegance and class. One can learn it or simply have it naturally but you cannot buy it in Harrods 😊

How can we combine elegance with having personalities, because it seems like we all have to look just one type of way i.e wearing neutrals and expensive designer accessories.
Love your content.

A lot of the products mentioned are aimed at the younger market so they are naturally very trendy with "cool" or "gasp" factor. It's a way for designer brands to capture young audiences who will hopefully stay on to be lifelong customers. Luckily for me I see trends as a waste of money and stick to classic styles that stand the test of time. Something that goes with everything or I can resell down the line.

I to agree with how elegance is defined, yes a lady is to be just that a lady, however how can one define elegance. Pherhaps more of one's own personal opinion(appearance), because no one is held to any one way in style or dress.

Oh my goodness! I did not even know croc heels existed. I stopped wearing crocs many years ago. I have never been one to follow trends. I am much more interested in timeless pieces which will serve me for many years. Once in a while, there is a trend that appeals to me, however, I will never spend a lot of money on them. I am thoroughly enjoying your videos and advice.
