I think as long as the colors match, bc this is due to trauma it’s not like she is being a brat. It’s her story. I honestly think we as humans need to always put ourselves in others shoes to understand more. What if the other fiancé’s mom had that life, would you say of course or would you force your mom? If you agreed to this, you can ask for the exception for your mother and explain why. If you didn’t agree with this, tell her everyone who wants to wear a sari can wear one and those who don’t want to wear one can wear what they want.
