How Much Papa John's Franchise Owners Really Make Per Year

Papa John’s has been in the news a lot in the last few years, but mostly for bad reasons. Founder and former CEO John Schnatter took a major downward spiral that required him to step down from the company, although he continues to insult it to this day. It might not sound like the best time to franchise at Papa John’s, but they are doing everything they can to reinvent themselves. Franchising is tough work, but it can bring in good money if you do it right. Let’s take a look at how much Papa John’s franchise owners really make every year.

At an average profit of $67K, a $15/hr minimum wage would put most of them out of business. Do you hear that Virginia?

Let me say that Papa John's is STILL the best in the game (of the major franchise pizza chains). But they have definitely changed. What Papa John says is true - he's not just a bitter former employee trying to badmouth the company that betrayed him. For example, I ordered a thin-crust pizza from PJ's today, and when I asked why they're not providing any Garlic Butter sauce, the manager told me that "thin crust pizza does not come with Garlic Butter sauce" and offered to provide for an additional $0.86, even though I ordered a Special, and the price is the same no matter what crust I choose! Blasphemy! Not to mention they got my order wrong, assuming I said "Pineapple" instead of "Ham" - am I a joke to you?!?

I always thought Papa John Schnatter himself was a bit goofy and awkward in his promotional content (commercials like the Papa John's Worldwide Pizza Website, the Sullivan University presentation), and I was expecting him to be like that on H3H3. But it's the exact opposite - the guy seems more genuine than ever, and really was THE man who built the company. It's evident that he cares about quality, and that other shareholders wanted to boot him out so they can cut costs and sacrifice quality. Papa John's will never be the same, and it's beginning to show in the quality of their products and service. Miss you, big guy :_[

Papa Johns has always been my favorite. The issue is quality varies completely between locations. Also, the delivery hot boxes make the pizza rubbery and can take hours. Might as well drive. Then we have to search for coupons. Why can't you just offer affordable items everyday? My generation is so over the unnecessary coupons.

We tried to get Papa Johns in San Diego last week. The cashier lacked the ability to give us a coupon because my phone had Mexican AT&T service and therefore made me ineligible for a pizza discount. Walked out and went somewhere else. And you blame the conduct of the CEO based on a word choice for loss in brand value? Nonsense! Also, NORMAL PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE $300, 000! Ridiculous franchise and startup fees are what is causing the brand to fail! And it sucks because it is by far the premium pizza product when it comes to delivery based on cleanliness of ingredients.

Also, employees need a major customer service training. When I used to pick up a pizza, a Papa Johns was a fun place to work. Now it's just a sad and depressing place. Like breeds like. Sadness makes pizzas taste bad 😦🍕

But yeah. We haven't had Papa John's in almost a year and San Diego Papa ruined that for us ☹ Place was dead. Probably could have used the business 🙁

Papa John's is terrible now for decades now I would say it was my favorite and that I couldn't stand Pizza Hut but the turns have tabled and I'm a big Hut fan now damn shame how the mighty have fallen.

I used to like Papa Johns when the pizza was actually good. Between the delivery drivers not being able to find my house, pizza quality going way down, and Schnatter, I just can't reward fail.

Papa John's pizzas remind me of the old school Godfather's pizzas lately but like they can't get that right 🤔 they should've kept Peyton Manning .... 🍕
