Just my opinion: I think the "jardin" or "garden" gives an emerald character and personality. If I were to buy a synthetic lab grown emerald I would not buy one that is too perfect or flawless because it would look too good to be true. It would look fake to my eyes. On the other hand it should not be too heavily included and should be mostly transparent and not dull.

I cut and sale only lab gems, mainly emeralds. I absolutely agree with you. Flux grown emeralds today are the only process that uses chromium as colouring agent to give the stones their nice bluish green . They are more expensive and very difficult to find . I have an idea where you find them😂. Anyway hydrothermals also especially top quality productions have reached the top Level about color and structure . Less cracks and very few inclusions or growth lines/chewrons . Today hydrothermal growth resembles the natural metamorphic origin of afghan stones (not colombian because noone uses Chrome anymore) while the Flux method rresembles the magmatic enviroment originated Crystals like top Brazilian gems (not Zambian becouse Zambian has vanadium as dopant). Another important thing is hydrothermal growth takes from less than 4 to max. 8 weeks(very rare) to complete the growth Flux canb take up to a year. Flux has no cracks usually becouse is not a pressurized autoclave as hydrothermal is so there are no tension in the material. I don't know who other except us is able to purchase Flux rough material 😂 . Keep the secret😂

Looks like black opals are the only ones that are going to survive the slaughter of lab created stones. Correct me if I'm wrong but Natural black opals look pretty different than lab created versions? Very easy to tell them apart by the eye?

I disagree with the ethical and sustainabilty part because when they grow synthetic emeralds in a lab they use real, but low quality natural mined emeralds. So there is still the impact of mining and extraction present. Its not like its completely sustainable or ethical in that regard. I would only recommend synthetic emeralds over natural ones if you are on a very tight budget and can’t afford the real deal.
