Y’all don’t understand that Dooku beat Anakin almost every duel they’ve ever had and has force lightning, literally the thing Sidous made Vader’s weakness. Dooku claps.

As much a fan of Dooku that I am, this is so, so wrong. Vader is just way too much for him. The only version of Vader I can think of that could "Possibly" lose to Dooku is Vader within the first week of getting used to his new suit and cybernetics, and even then its a toss up.

Dooku specializes in Makashi, the second form of lightsaber combat. It prioritizes finesse, technique, and elegance and focuses on astute strikes and parrying. During the Count’s time as a revered Jedi Master, many bestowed him with the distinction of being the Order’s finest lightsaber duelist. And others still considered him to be the best of the best, behind only Yoda and, arguably, Mace Windu.

Vader is, as per usual, a cybernetic monstrosity. A Force storm of every lethal emotion. Resentment, loathing, pitilessness, hatred.

Vader, on the other hand, battles using an amalgamation of lightsaber forms. He would use the offensive concentration and vigour of Djem So, the elegance and footwork of Makashi, the aggression and physicality of Juyo, and the defensive rock and patience of Soresu. Vader’s mastery and fusion of these styles made him a nigh-unstoppable force in combat.

I think that Vader would call on Djem So to overwhelm Dooku with hulking overhead swings and strikes, eventually aging the archaic man by a decade with each attack. Additionally, Vader would use the brawny aggression of Juyo to perhaps knee, kick and punch Dooku, harming the man who was becoming frailer and fragile. Dooku, due to his advanced age of eighty and fatigue, could find his knees beginning to buckle, his concentration beginning to lapse as Vader headbutted him.

Meanwhile, I think that Vader’s more applied and practiced uses of Djem So, Makashi, Juyo, and Soresu would trump Dooku’s combat diversity.

For those of you saying it doesn’t make sense since Anakin beat Dooku. Vader was nerfed after that battle at mustafar and his suit made it difficult for mobility and moving around so Dooku takes dueling and also Palps made it so that Vader’s suit is extremely weak to force lighting so he could subdue him if Vader tried to overthrow. All Dooku has to do is to dance with Vader in a bit in a duel and get him open for some force lightning.

In my opinion, Vader would prevail in a hard-fought, exhausting confrontation with Sidious’ previous apprentice.

He may be forced to fall back on styles that he doesn’t match his proficiency of Makashi with.

While I think that Dooku could have the upper hand in the beginning if rested, landing slashes at his shoulder blades and stabbing at Vader’s control panel, Vader’s will and strength would soar, allowing him to overcome Dooku’s Force Lightning and grip him in the air, hurling him around the battlefield and breaking his bones until impaling him with his lightsaber.

If you were to ask many Star Wars fans who the most proficient practitioner of Makashi was, many of them - and perhaps all - would reckon the Count of Serenno. He was the impeccable apotheosis of the form. Nonetheless, I can’t help but wonder if Dooku was over-reliant on the form. Dooku was a master in the other forms of lightsaber combat, but he was out of practice with them. If his elegance and precision began to be overwhelmed by the ferocity and cybernetic strength of Vader, I am not confident that he would adequately adapt. He may lose his elegance and precision as he counters Vader’s tenacious swings.

On equal ground and if both kept a clear head Vader would win if not in saber combat at least with force powers while Dooku was no joke even as a Jedi his potential in Legends was higher then Mauls And even Plagueis but lower then Anakins/Vaders even after the injuries once he got full handles on the suit and lower then Lukes yeah.
