The Cape Town Arts Festival, powered by Ariva Arts Foundation, and supported by the WC Dept of Cultural Affairs and Sport and Artscape, developed an upskilling program for buskers. This video is a glimpse of the Busker program rollout when it started on the 4th of July with a stage presence masterclass with music industry legend Terry Fortune.
Terry Fortune is the stage name of Tyrone Robertson. Terry Fortune was the name that Robertson conjured up when he launched his career as a drag artist, in 1971.
Terry is multi-talented and an iconic performer and singer with awards and nominations for major awards (such as the Fleur du Cap Theatre Award). He received the kykNET Fiëstas Legend award in 2021, for his acclaimed performances and contribution to the entertainment industry. He last performed at the Baxter, in Remembering The Lux.
