Download 'The Evolution Of Man' (Out Now):

Following on from his #1 smash 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me', this is the official video (directed by Adam Powell) of the brand new single from Example, 'Stay Awake' - produced by Nero.

'Stay Awake' is out now on Ministry of Sound Recordings.

LYRICS:
If we don't kill ourselves
We'll be the leaders of a messed up generation
If we don't kid ourselves
Will they believe us if we tell them the reasons why
Did we take it too far?
Take it too far
Did we chase the rabbit into wonderland
Lose a hundred grand
Will they understand
It was all to stay awake for the longest

March on always after us
Lost troops, half the class of us
You man ain't seen the last of us
Stick around yeh like Elastoplast
Not half mast
Raise our flag, kick the sand
To let you know that we're coming and we're nasty man, and
Don't need sleeping beauty
No, It's what you do to me
Come midnight
And daybreak, yes please gotta find me her namesake
We got faith but don't need bibles
Take the Michael
Hear my recital, I hold the title
Quite vital
We get high on the opposite of Nytol

It was all to stay awake for the longest time
It was long, it was wrong
But it felt so right
See you at the finish line, see you at the finish line
If you got the heart to join us

If we don't kill ourselves
We'll be the leaders of a messed up generation
If we don't kid ourselves
Will they believe us if we tell them the reasons why
Did we take it too far?
Take it too far
Did we chase the rabbit into wonderland
Lose a hundred grand
Will they understand
It was all to stay awake for the longest

March on always after us
Lost troops, half the class of us
You man ain't seen the last of us
Stick around yeh like Elastoplast
Not half mast
Raise our flag, kick the sand
To let you know that we're coming and we're nasty man, and
Don't need sleeping beauty
No, It's what you do to me
Come midnight
And daybreak, yes please gotta find me her namesake
We got faith but don't need bibles
Take the Michael
Hear my recital, I hold the title
Quite vital
We get high on the opposite of Nytol

We just grow
If it's late then we'll show
We dont wait
We just grow
If you hate we don't show
We dont wait
We just grow
If it's late then we'll show
We dont wait
We just grow

If we don't kill ourselves
We'll be the leaders of a messed up generation
If we don't kid ourselves
Will they believe us if we tell them the reasons why
Did we take it too far?
Take it too far
Did we chase the rabbit into wonderland
Lose a hundred grand
Will they understand
It was all to stay awake for the longest

This song hits differently now that we've grown up.

Example called it. He knew that our generation would be messed up.

One of those songs you forgot about and haven't heard in years, then remember every lyric when played.

The music I appreciate the most of all, is the music that I come back to and when I do it "brings me back in time." Somehow all his songs do that, and that's worth listening to forever.

My dad put this on for me to see if I liked it when I was 4, I didn't only like it but I loved it, later on I didn't listen to it for a few years, but I remembered you 'Example' I searched it up, the first song I saw was this, because, when I was young I watched it so many times it was stuck at the top of the list. First listened in 2012, still listening in 2018 ❤❤💜💚

I remember when I was just a kid discovering EDM and this was one of my favorite tracks (it still is). Now I'm almost 21 (December 30th 1999) and I understand the lyrics in a different way. Sadly this song isn't available for my country on Spotify anymore.
