Never choose a charging stop with less than 6 charging stations. That way less chance of parking at fault unit. Also avoid Shell and BP, they have no real incentive to promote EVs

I found that locking the opening the charging port, turn off the car and lock it, then plug the charger. This works every time for me. Once it starts charging, i can open the door

The fastest solution I found was to call the support line. It's frustrating, but they either restart the machine and it works, or they tell you flat out that it's broken.

EV charging should be as easy as ICE fuelling - if it was EV range anxiety would be a thing of the past - the whole thing seems to have been badly mismanaged as the government appears to absolved itself of the necessary responsibility for such a major change

Next time try to hold and lift the connected plug a little bit during the hand shake. The upper pins are used for the connection and if the plug with its cable is too heavy the pins have no contact.

He’s lucky he found a charger that works and actually does a rapid charge. Most are 11kw.

It’s a nightmare and when social scoring takes hold you just won’t be allowed to charge.

According to some YouTube channels .
People having this sort of problem are most likely faking it.
Because they have never had a problem there EV.
And they never have to queue to charge because that never happened in the time they have been driving their EV.

My colleague just did a tester with a new electric van. Each day he was spending 2 hours sat in the office waiting for it to charge so he could go to ONE LOCAL SITE ONLY, then go home 30 mins away………….. They all know it was a disaster but we’re due new vans soon and guess what, they’re going to be electric 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Not an uncommon experience. Very few chargers have consistent information that matches either the signage or experience of charging.

Tip for MG owners, never, ever attempt to charge the car when it is still turned on. Causes a fault which means the car can’t be driven. If your lucky it clears after about 20 minutes or if you disconnect the battery.
