For two consecutive days, China has violated Taiwan's airspace by flying military jets around the self-governing island unannounced. Taiwan's Premier Su Tseng-chang has slammed the flights, saying they jeopardize regional peace. The flyovers are seen as a show of force during the week-long commemoration of Chinese National Day. Two separate sorties flew into Taiwan's airspace on Friday. On Saturday, another two waves of fighter jets were flown in. The defense ministry in Taipei says a total of 77 military planes entered Taiwan's defense zone.

Airspace and ADIZ are not the same. I expected DW to use the right term and be less click baity.

You call this slam? A speech with a very soft voice. Typical DW, full of BS.

Okay, Taiwan "slams" China's jet flyover by making a speech. Very nice reaction.

With Germany still not having recognized Taiwan as a souvereign country, because they're scared of the CCP, complaining about flyovers seems pretty hypocritical.

Time for US and Australia to send soilders to Taiwan. And stay there like Afghanistan. But it should cost less this time.

Let's get something straight. An air defense identification zone (ADIZ) does not equate national airspace. Much of Taiwan's ADIZ includes airspace in mainland China, so for any Chinese jet to even takeoff would technically "violate" Taiwan's ADIZ, but ofc DW would never mention that. What a bunch of warmongering BS.

I think Taiwan should announce they will be doing some some random missile tests around their country. If 'China' should happen to get into the way, oh well. They were warned.

Taiwan Adiz goes all the way into China mainland. Remember never mentions of china air defense zone

Ridiculously when China's flight over Taiwan is a violation, but when the US sends airplanes or cheaps close to China is freedom of navigation. Hippcresy

Turkey violates Greece's airspace multiple times every day. When will that get coverage, DW?

Nothing is wrong in this. That is China’s territory

China lost three pilots during this show of force over Taiwan. There is a memorial for these three pilots but the cause of death was not declared.

Air defense identification zone is NOT airspace! They are different!
Anyone curious of Taiwan's ADIZ? 0:28, it includes a piece of mainland China 😂😂

its a "Freedom of Navigation"

The title is inappropriate. Taiwan is part of China's airspace.
