Bronx tenants frustrated by lack of heat as temperatures plunge

In these frigid temperatures, some New Yorkers are dealing with no heat. CBS News New York's Vanessa Murdock spoke with people in the Bronx about how they are staying warm as they try to get some answers.

This happens in private housing too. I pay $2500/mo and regularly don’t have heat because management refuses to buy a new boiler

Shame on these landlords for not providing heat, hot water, and repairs to their apartments to their tenants, but they expect the rent each and every month. This is why we need to have a Rent Freeze to show these landlords we mean business don't take it personal. Rent Too Damn High. Shame you Rent guidelines board & the city council.

Year to year to year you can guarantee you will see a story of public housing residents with no heat, and management never fix it. This is so sad.

90% of nyc apartments are old and non possible to live in.
Also the heating system sucks in general in NY.
I don’t know what people are paying for. Not to mention the truly BAD soundproofing and the doors where you can literally here everything from the hall.

Landlords are Abusers I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️ when they going to put a new law on landlords, they want rent & rent and they don’t do nothing

You have to keep calling 311 and putting tickets. Otherwise the city inspector will show up once and you will never see them again. Not to mention that some of these inspectors know the landlords very well (if you know what I mean).
