BlackBerry Q10 Video Recording Test

The BlackBerry Q10 comes loaded with an 8MP camera that is capable of capturing up to 1080p videos. We put it to the test using only 720p and were quite pleased with the results given it's still just a smartphone that's doing the capturing.

As seen in the video above, video was clear and the audio, even with the noisy background of being on a roof in New York City, was handled with grace. In short, it'll do the trick for most folks for capturing those quick moments.

i suppose the image stabilization was working and also the autofocus (focus-pumping). And the image distortions at fast pannings are called rolling shutter. All CMOS sensors have that issue. And these sensors are built into almost every new phone or camera.

The quality of the video seems to be magnificent, but..what about fps? I mean, for sure it'is HD recording, but it does not seems to be 24 fps recording.. What can you say about it?

Picture quality looks good except the video was extremely choppy when panning around quickly. Don't know if that's a phone or user issue.

I remember I used to take pretty pictures with this. I still have them on my disk, mostly pictures of plants, and other objects, even a fly resting on a leaf! About the phone, it is currently down, when turned on, it quickly drains the battery, but hopefully it can still be repaired. This camera was too good at the time, speaking from my experience with the phone.

If there is a way to cut the auto focus off then that might b better because it makes the video all wavy quality is good jus not with the auto focus
