What is the opera? Not too many movie versions of operas.
His French is so clear and well-articulated, his skill in the French style is so refined….should have said “was”. But he is still alive in my mind, when I saw him bound onto the stage in tights as Romeo (fifty-something looking 17) with Mirella Freni, and the time when he was paired with Renata Scotto (gosh, was it Manon? Or La Boheme? At Chicago Lyric opera.? They never brought him back often enough, but I think I caught him twice in Lucia. My favorite romantic tenor.
