Bought a Stetson that I absolutely love recently. When I put it on, I had the same problem as this gentleman did. I got the same size that I had in another cowboy hat that I had owned for a bit and liked the way that one fit. After watching this, I will definitely have my hat custom shaped to fit my head shape. Thank you!

Where are you applying the steam to... the brim.. the crown ... or where the brim meets the crown?
And is that a leather hat band? Is it okay to do this procedure with a leather hat band on?

I have a long oval head shape most hats I found are not true Long ovals. Here's my question when you have a hat that already has a leather band on the inside and you steam front and back and pull it to get tension on the sides to try to make a long oval isn't that very temporary since once it gets damp again it will go back to the shape the Hat was when the band was sewn in? Thank you for your time Simon
