2019 Peugeot 508 SW: Better than a BMW?

preview_player

The Peugeot 508 SW brings estate car practicality to the French brand's latest contender in the large family car class. With good practicality, and a striking interior it certainly gets off on the right foot, but would you consider having one over a BMW, Audi or Mercedes?

WTF Peugeot, your styling of cars recently is beautiful, never liked Peugeot cars before, but now they have come up in the world.

Such a good looking car, way more exciting than the German grey.

My 2014 peugot 508 still runs well, no major issues, nothing falling apart as some people responded here.

Had mine 2 months now and it gets better every day. 50 mpg from the diesel.

I travelled in one of these amongst Merc E taxis in Lyon recently, and it did not feel you were being short changed in the Pug.

Peugeot is gonna be one of the iconic and ganster/badass cars in the 2020's

The car is gorgeous and this colour suits it very well. Good job Peugeot!

I don't get why people can't get over setting the temperature digitally. It's something you barely touch and can be changed by a voice command in most cars. For me personally that's a perfect example of something that can easily be replaced by software.
Yesterday I sat in a black 508 SW GT-line trim during my visit to a Peugeot dealer. I knew the car was beautiful, but it still surprised me. It's SUCH a nice car with fantastic seats. It really is on my shortlist for summer 2021 together with the Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Picked mine up (same colour but manual diesel GTline) Novermber 19 and am delighted. Not surprised as the previous '63 plate 508SW I had did close on 200k without developing any problems. Only maintenance other than routine 20, 000 services, was tyres and brake pads; that's all. Would have held onto it, but it didn't comply with the London ELEZ so it was time to say goodbye.

On the strength of that reliability I had been looking forward to the RHD model of this car for months, and had to wait quite a while for delivery after ordering, but worth the wait.
The review didn't mention the app which is new to me, very impressive and so is the sat nav, though you need a subscription (£69) to enable 'risk area' warnings, -aka speed cameras- and some other TomTom features. Nice touches as the satnav displays nearby garages and their fuel price.

Incidentally the app is currently reporting average consumption over almost 3000 miles as 63.9mpg.

As others below have noted, it is a good looking car and much admired. I do miss the glass roof from the previous 508SW, - - but I'll survive.

it's only a matter of time, it's new PSE hybrid technology promises around 300-400bhp without the need for a big heavy engine and pretty much instant acceleration off the mark
German cars are so 2010's now and too common these days to be considered special or exclusive

Back seat looks awfully cramped. Especially for a big car like that.
