Biryani, British Indian Restaurant Style is a true delight. It's quick and very simply to assemble unlike it's authentic cousin. Full of flavour with its use of aromatic spices, this rice becomes a true taste sensation. BIR served in your own home.
🌶 SQ Non Stick Die Cast Aluminium Pot ( As I'm using in the video)
Ingredients (Serves 4)
✅ FOR THE TIKKA
600g Mini Chicken Fillets
3 Tbsp Al’s Tikka Marinade mix ( or make your usual way)
150ml Natural yogurt
Milk to thin marinade
1 Tsp Sugar
Orange Food Colouring (Optional)
✅ Pre Cook The Rice
2 Mugs Rice (540g Dry Weight)
2 Tsp Turmeric (to make rice yellow)
6 Cloves
2 Black Cardamom
8 Green Cardamom
2 Bay leaves
Small Piece Cinnamon
1 Tsp Cumin seeds
1/2 Tsp Black peppercorns
Salt
Red Food Colouring
✅ For The Biryani
70ml Veg oil
2 Tbsp Butter Ghee
3 Onions Sliced
1 red chilli ( If you choose not to use food colouring.)
Whole bulb of garlic sliced
15 Curry leaves
✅ Spices
3 Tbsp Mix Powder
1 Tbsp Cumin Powder
1/2 Tbsp Coriander powder
Pinch of Garam Masala
A generous amount of fresh coriander chopped
