You are a human being, not a human doing. That is just brilliant,

I want to be creative, bring peace & happiness to others, love, help others improve their lives :-) I'm doing that by giving advice to my friends & strangers and my sewing tutorials and lifestyle blog. I also plan to travel to Gambia in december to give clothes to the little girls and boys there

I absolutely agree although instead of the question: Who do I want to be? I would ask: Who am I? Because everything you should "extract" is already with you. No matter how old you are, try to discover what you like, what you feel strongly about, what excites you? You will automatically begin to follow those things (unless you have any shame-issues going on about them) and they will lead you on your path, I believe in this. When adults ask what you want to be when you grow up, they force you to think in categories or premade boxes in which you are supposed to fit. That's not true. You are free, you don't have to belong in any preestablished category. Your life is you. Ask questions. Discover who you are, not who you are EXPECTED to become by others. This is what your life will become.

I want to be a leader. I try to teach people what I know, & be encouraging, when I can!

I'm 28 and just now trying to go to law school. I've already changed my career twice and I still am not totally sure what I want to do(I do have an idea tho)- sometimes I feel very old to be just doing this now. I know logically, thats silly, but you read in the news all the 22 year olds who are millionaires already(I am not haha). Thanks for this video. BTW your hair inspires me and the way you dress is just *snaps fingers* yas honey!

I finally chose what I want to do with my life. But I live with this constant fear of failure. I'm putting all my energies and time on this dream, but what if I fail? I'm only 20 years old, but I feel I'm running out of time for some reason. I just see how there are 18-21 years old people who are already so successful, and there's me...I don't know. I always try to keep thinking positive thoughts but sometimes I really get stressed out. I want my family to be proud of me, that's my only wish.

Wow.  This made me wish I'd known Marie back when I was a young as Kirsten right here. I think it's really about staying true to who you see yourself and how you envision yourself to be. This reminded me of the takeaway from Marie's talk with Danielle Laporte where they talked about the Core Desire Feelings. I could connect it in such a way that my CDFs are basically based on the answers to that question of "Who I want to be?".  At 24, I'm in a phase of questioning myself of who I want to be when I grow up and it's quite funny and not so because when I was 12, I thought 24's like all grown up. I think it'll be a constant battle until you finally become it, the person you've always wanted to be.

Oh wow, she's amazing! I wish I was like that when I was 11. I didn't know what I wanted to do until I was in HS. I made the decision, went to college for it, studied it, and now, 5 years after graduating college, I am so lost. I have no idea what I am doing with my life, absolutely no sense of direction - job wise. And you are right, you change your mind as an adult. You find loves for new things, and actually fall out of love for others. It's not that I don't know what I want to do or love doing, it's the fact that I seriously have been struggling to get there. I want to be the person I know I can be, but the journey hasn't lead me there yet.

Great video Marie! I'm 27 and I've changed my career path twice now. I think when you're young that might sound pretty scary-but if you do your best every day you'll be surprised how much courage and knowledge you gain. Work hard, respect everyone you encounter and you will go a LONG way no matter where you decide to go! xoxo (that dress looks killer on you btw!)

I want to be authentic, expressive, creative and helpful (giving). Thank you Marie for this beautiful message & reminder to BE instead of DO. It's been hard to focus in this career transition of mine - since I've been taught to just keep doing & achieving instead of being a human BEing - I love that. Thank you!

Really good question. When you don't know the answer to this it can make you feel lost about where you're heading and frustrated when we often hear that in order to be successful, you have to get clear on your goals and your vision and purpose etc. which is pretty hard to do when...you don't know what that is! Marie Forleo though you've given an amazing answer and thanks for helping ourselves as well as your followers :)

As well as being film-makers, we want to be known for spreading positivity, inspiring people and just putting a smile on their face. And we've figured why not do this through the films we make :)

Thanks Marie Forleo
