Wild times, Microsoft being the best Linux salesman in 2024 and Intel being the best AMD salesman in 2024.

One note. 5900XT, despite its 12 core naming convention, is actually a 16 core budget 5950X. Appears same cache size across the board. Just slightly lower boost and base clock speeds.

Company: we are losing, we need technological advantages, we are we gonna do
Company: fires engineers, pay dividends to dumb ahh generic MBA managers
Also company: we need engineers

The major reason Intel has way more headcount than both AMD and Nvidia is that Intel runs a global factory network. AMD and Nvidia both send their parts out to external foundries for manufacturing.

Who would have thought, selling performance CPU's at a cost lower than the competitor would lead to increased market share?!

I’ll never trade in old CPUs. Those are family!

Man, if AMD's CPU sales team could get with their GPU team and make super undercut prices like the new 9000 CPU's with their next gen GPU's. I feel like they would start to get a bigger foothold in the GPU market and make things more competitive.

Small correction, the 5900XT is a 16-core part (thanks AMD for that confusing name), my understanding is that it’s a downclocked 5950x. Also, I just checked; both 16-core cpus are currently the same price on Amazon.

I still can't see how any SANE person thinks that subscription based support for a hardware product makes any sense. I guess the idea of making a durable product that you support as a company for at least 3-5 year or more is just TOO much to ask.

What do you think about Intel not calling the faulty cpu’s back

Prediction: 9800x3D will be around $420 when it comes out assuming these prices are correct which it look they are. That is a $30 decrease from the 7800x3D’s MSRP.

Let's hope AMD doesn't look at all the positivity of the "leaked" pricing, and pull an uno reverse card and give us higher prices at the actual launch, and claim it was just "mistakes" on the retail partner websites.

3:05 Intel been around longer? Like Intel was founded in 1968 and AMD in 1969.
I don't think that extra year really matters
Nvidia was founded in 1993 still that was 31 years ago.

nice prices if only we had new GPUs to go with them it would be the time to build when 3d versions drop

10 billion divided by 10000 = 1 million per person. Dam. Wish I worked there 😂😂

Oh boy. If I brought all my old hardware in NewEgg, I'd not only got my tickets back, but I could actually afford for RTX40 along with PSU...

The trade in is not bad because it is a hassle to deal with eBay and packaging where NewEgg is likely just going to have you put it in the shipping box and give you a pre-paid shipping label. The problem I have is they do not go back a generation more. I can understand for people going from a 7000 series to a 9000 series, but I tend to skip a few generation. I'm on a 5600 and am not sure if I am going to do a 9700 or wait for the next generation. I also tend to just slap them into a computer for one of my kids or grandkids. My Ryzen 1400 and GTX 1060 (6GB) is running pretty strong still in my oldest daughter's computer.

I noticed that the 9700x and 9600x just happens to be cheaper than the current retail price of the 7800x3d. Be interesting to see if this changes the price to performance metrics.
