Situational variables
A type of extraneous variable related to environmental things which varies for each participant. Eg : chill room which is suitable for one person and doesnt suit for another person which may affect test performance

If an extraneous variable is the real reason for an outcome rather than independent variable it is called Confounding variable because it has confuse or confounded the relationship we are studied

Situational are the the factors in the environment that can unintentionally affect the results of a study ex: noise, temperature etc.
Confounding are the variables which influence both dependent and independent variables, causing a spurious association (i hope its correct)
